Packing List for Hoka Hey

Since the Hoka Hey is just around the corner (I will be leaving for Daytona in 10 days), I thought I would give a rundown of my packing list. I have added a few notes but will be writing on several topics explaining some of the items. Look forward to posts on Long-Distance Motorcycle riding, Riding in the Heat, Motorcycle Camping, Etc.

Camp Chair (Campster 2) – Got from Kickstarter and love how easy and quick packing.

Jet boil – for coffee and quick meals (don’t want to spend time in restaurants)

Cooler

Water blader – on long trips it is best to be drinking all the time. I expect to drink 4+ liters/day)

Food (protein bars, snacks & backpacking meals). – Less time inside means more miles)

Haven Hammock – love this thing. I can set it up & take down in about 3 minutes. I am able to sleep off the ground and flat, I tend to sleep on my side and am too old to sleep on the ground.

Hammock Stand (Tensa) – just in case there are no trees. I can set up with only on stake or tie to bike.

Sleeping bag liner – I actually slip this over the air mattress.

Underwear (synthetic) – Cotton chaffs in heat and these will dry in hours.

Wool Socks – naturally water repellent and anti-bacterial. Can just rinse and dry overnight.

I know this looks like a lot of stuff, but remember we are not allowed to stay indoors or have outside assistance, so that means we must camp. Also, remember time = miles, so every second I save from going inside for something will mean I get further down the road.

The key is to go as small and light as possible. It may be hard to believe but I still have plenty of room on my bike.
